Giovanni Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub Review

Many of us take good care of our face, but totally neglect our body. You wouldn’t want to end up having a youthful looking face with wrinkly, aged skin on the rest of your body. This is why body care is important as well. I have been into body scrubs since last year, and the best body scrub I’ve tried so far is the Giovanni Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub. To all chocolate lovers out there, you will love this!

It comes in a simple translucent plastic tub (in a weird shape haha). Under the screw cap lays another thin plastic cover to prevent leakage. I still retain the plastic cover to keep things clean, as the body scrub itself is sticky. Think sugary sweet stuff that ants absolutely love! You wouldn’t want them feasting on your body scrub. Yikes!

The Giovanni Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub smells HEAVENLY. I still remember vividly when I first opened the tub and had a whiff of the scrub, it was sooo chocolatey, I really wanted to dip my finger in and put it in my mouth! That’s how delicious the body scrub smells and I love it. Even the bathroom smells good after I use it, no kidding!

The body scrub is light brown in colour from the crushed cocoa beans. It is also grainy and sticky (sugar), and doesn’t drop from the spoon when I scoop it up. As per the description, it really warms up upon contact with your skin and feels very soothing.

How To Use:

Under a warm shower, dip into jar and then rub across body to exfoliate all over. Rinse.

I personally prefer to use a small spoon (medicine spoon as in image above) to scoop out what I need, instead of dipping my fingers into the jar. It’s more hygienic this way and yes, I’m OCD like that. 😉

The Giovanni Hot Chocolate Sugar Scrub can also be found on other websites, but I bought mine from iHerb. It’s so popular that sometimes it goes out of stock on iHerb!

TIP: If you are new to iHerb, you can use this coupon code “VLF127″ for $10 off your first iHerb order of $40 or more. For orders less than $40, you will receive $5 off.

My Verdict

I’m halfway through the tub now, and would definitely buy this again! I use it once or twice a week, and one tub can last me for about 6 months. Hence, it’s really affordable! I have normal skin and this body scrub didn’t give me any issues. Do note that as the sugar bits and walnut shell powder already act as exfoliants, there is no need to use loofahs or exfoliating gloves. Just your hands will do! 🙂

P.S. I paid for the product, i.e. this is not an advertorial or sponsorship. All opinions are based on my personal experiences.
