Amber Avenue Review – Lace Crop Top and Skater Skirt
Here’s a review on two new additions to my wardrobe from Amber Avenue – Zinna Lace Crop Top in White and Aimee Skater Skirt in Heather Blue.
Zinna Lace Crop Top
I bought the Zinna Lace Crop Top in White (Size S) at S$24. Initially, I almost bought The Stage Walk‘s Lacie Crop Top in Cream but held back because of the fully sheer lace back, which renders a stick on bra necessary. Thankfully, I decided to give it a miss and next, Amber Avenue came up with a similar piece which has a fully lined back – exactly what I wanted!
What I like about the Zinna Lace Crop Top is its pristine white colour. Not off white or yellowish white which can make any clothing appear old and dirty. This is also the reason why I will always choose white over cream coloured apparel. It just looks cleaner and brighter, don’t you think so? The Zinna Lace Crop Top also has a pretty scallop trim along the hem. Small details like these counts! It is also fully lined front and back, so you can wear your normal bra, albeit a light coloured one unless you want the focus to be on your bra instead. 😉 Lastly, this top should definitely be hand washed inside out as the lace is very delicate. Oh well, what’s a little manual labour for such a pretty piece?
Aimee Skater Skirt
I bought the Aimee Skater Skirt in Heather Blue (Size S) off the sale section at only S$12! Apparently, I bought the last piece as the item was marked as “Sold Out” after I carted out the skirt. Lucky me! *Beams*
The Aimee Skater Skirt is 17″ long, which is a good length for my height of 1.65m. Any shorter could pose as danger, especially on up riding escalators! The elastic waist band sits nicely at my waist. The skirt is not lined, but not sheer. Overall, the Aimee Skater Skirt is a versatile piece to pair with all sorts of tops!
Looking For: Casual White Shirt
On a side note, I’m currently on the lookout for a casual white button down shirt. I think it should be a staple wardrobe piece as it goes with basically anything – shorts, jeans, skirts, you name it! So I went for a hunt at Forever 21 and tried on two pieces. School girl look? Haha. Anyway, didn’t like them enough to bring them home and so, the hunt continues! Drop me a note if you have any recommendations?
For your reference, I am a UK6, PTP at 15″, waist at 12.5″, and stand at 1.65m. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I don’t bite! 🙂
P.S. I paid for the clothes, i.e. this is not an advertorial or sponsorship. All opinions are based on my personal experiences.
